Test Pattern MTech CENTAC Pondicherry

CENTAC PG Entrance examination for M.Tech. consists of One Single Question paper of Multiple Choice Type. However, each M.Tech. program would have separate questions in accordance with the syllabus that candidate has learned at degree / qualifying level. The duration of examination is 90 minutes.

Each correct answer carries 4 marks and each wrong answer -1 marks.

Selection Process

Selection to the different M.Tech. Courses is made on the basis of GATE percentile. Other state candidates without valid GATE score are not eligible for admission.

Sponsored candidates are treated as non-GATE candidates and 40% weightage of marks for experience (at the rate of 4% for each completed year of experience subject to a maximum of 40%) and 60% weightage of marks is given for the entrance examination /interview to be conducted by the department at PEC with due intimation.

The aggregate of marks obtained in (a) and (b) is considered for selection.

The admission through CENTAC entrance test or GATE is available for both categories i.e. Indian Nationals of Puducherry and India Nationals from other states and union territories.

Exam Schedule

The CENTAC PG entrance examination for admission to M.Tech. programs is conducted at Pondicherry Engineering College, Pondicherry. It is generally held during Mid-July.
